Following representation from a number of local residents, Kippen Community Council examined the proposals for a new Anaerobic Digester facility to be established at Mains of Boquhan. A number of concerns were raised by the proposal so we sought the advice of an independent expert with 30 years of experience in planning legislation.

We met with residents and the independent expert on a series of Zoom calls and concluded that we should object to the proposal. While we support – in theory – any initiative to reduce waste and aid in efforts to combat the effects of climate change we cannot support this proposal in its current form.

Our rationale for this decision is laid out in a document which you can download here

We have also provided guidance notes should anyone else in the village feel that they too would wish to object to this proposal. You can download the Guidance notes here.

You can view the application on Stirling Council’s planning portal.
