Eagle-eyed residents may have noticed that work has progressed on the electric vehicle charging points which Stirling Council elected to install in the lay-by in Castlehill Loan – near to the Doctor’s surgery.
We’ve been in touch with the Council to get more information.
The Council responded today (29 June 2022) as follows:
Thank you for your enquiry.
Although our contractor has installed the chargepoints we have been waiting for SSE to conduct the connection works. Their engineers have indicated that they intend to change the cable route from their original design and a site meeting to plan traffic and pedestrian management during the works will be carried out today (Wed 29th) with the intention of undertaking the connection works on 4th & 5th Aug. Following connection, a metering appointment will be made with our meter provider. Once metered our installer will return to commission the units and register them on the Chargeplace Scotland Network.
The bays will be signed & painted as EV charging bays only and as a Traffic Regulation Order is in place enforcement officers will be able to issue penalties for incorrect use of the bays. At present the chargers are free to use and there are no time restrictions imposed.
Apologies for the delay, the follow up work after installation is the longest part due to the different parties involved
We’ll keep you posted on developments
