Informal information events are being held next week for people who may be interested in fostering with Stirling Council.
The virtual sessions will be an opportunity to find out what’s involved in becoming a foster carer, including details on the process, training, support, fees and allowances.
Staff from the Council’s fostering team and foster carers will be on hand to answer any questions and speak about their experiences.
The evening event will be held on Tuesday, 30 March, between 6pm and 7pm, and the lunchtime session will be held on Wednesday, 31 March, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
The events will be held on Microsoft Teams due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions, and those interested can drop in for 10 minutes or the full hour.
To request an invite please email: adoption-fostering@stirling.gov.uk.
Stirling Council’s Chief Social Work Officer, Marie Valente said: “These virtual sessions allow people to find out about the various fostering opportunities that are available in a relaxed and informal way.
“Fostering can be extremely rewarding as you can make a real difference to a child’s life and change their future for the better.
“There is also ongoing support and training in place for all our carers so you are never alone and will feel part of a wider family.
“If you think you may be able to provide a safe and nurturing home for a young person, please come along to one of the events next week to find out more and to chat directly with our carers.”
To secure an invite for the drop-in sessions, please email adoption-fostering@stirling.gov.uk.
If you are unable to come along but would like more information, please call 01786 471177 or email: adoption-fostering@stirling.gov.uk. More information on fostering is also available on the Stirling Council website.
