Last night’s rest centre arrangements will continue today, Wednesday 1 December.

SSEN’s last official update to the Council confirmed around 200-250 properties are still without power meaning welfare provisions will continue at McLaren Leisure Centre until 10pm, while Thornhill Primary School will continue to offer respite between 4pm and 10pm.

A multi-agency volunteer group led by the Council last night (Tue 30th) conducted an extensive door-to-door welfare check in the affected areas, passing on information regarding respite at Thornhill and McLaren.

Today, the Council’s focus remains on providing support to known individuals who have contacted us/reached out for welfare support, and contacting the remaining off-supply properties through volunteer support.

The properties remaining without power are dispersed across a broad geographical area and we will endeavour to provide an update on our progress later today.

In the meantime, please continue to call SSEN on 105, or our contact Centre if they have concerns related to care provision.
