We received a note from Stirling Council today about the state of some trees along the A811 between Buchlyvie and the turn off to Kippen.

Message as follows:

After concerns raised regarding tree’s along a section of the A811 between Buchlyvie and the B8037 Kippen we have had a report obtained by our in-house Tree and Woodland Officer. This report has identified 18 trees (Oak, Sycamore, Ash and Horse Chestnut) that are dead or require urgent attention. I have attached a plan showing the locations.

This work is urgent and therefore the council have requested 3 quotes from local contractors to undertake this work. This will be done under a Road Closure due to the size of the trees and the safety of the public.

As we do not have records of all local Land Owners we hope that you can spread the word on this to help identify them. Where possible the trees will be cut and left in the fields for the land owners to then deal with.

This work will commence as soon as we have awarded the work to a local contractor.

I am the owner of Sandyholes, near Arnprior. The plan attached to the Community Council note is somewhat unclear and I wish to establish if any affected trees are on my property. Are you able to direct me to someone who can confirm? Thanks.

Kevin

Hi Kevin – I will pass your details on to Arnprior Community Council and they might be able to help as they’ll have details of the Council officer
